FAQ

It is recommended to choose 1. compression (CCL 1) socks from the Hospital product line. They are created specifically for the needs of operations and childbirth. This product line has been developed in collaboration with medical professionals and is doctor approved.

A doctor's recommendation is required before purchasing compression class 2 (CCL 2) products. A prescription or proof will not be required for the purchase, but please note that the 2nd compression is medical class and improper use can cause harm to health.

Tonus Elast manufactures CCL 2 knee stockings, long socks, tights, monosocks and compression sleeves.

During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes major changes, including an increase in blood volume and fluid. This fluid can cause swelling, often in the legs, ankles and feet. Hormonal changes and weight gain are two factors that contribute to the development of varicose veins during pregnancy. To take care of the future mother's veins' health, it is recommended to wear compression stockings.
Before buying compression stockings, you should definitely consult a doctor.

The good news is that varicose veins often disappear soon after childbirth.

Compression classes tend to be preventive (CCL P), first (CCL 1), second (CCL 2), and others. The higher the compression class, the tighter the compression sock. Compression levels are measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). It is the same scale used to measure blood pressure.

Prophylactic class or CCL P (up to 18 mmHg) products are intended for people who are at risk but have not yet developed varicose veins:
- for pregnant women;
- people with excess weight;
- with a tendency to vein diseases;
- at work where you have to stand for a long time (teachers, salespersons, nurses, etc.), sit or lift weights.

Compression class I or CCL 1 (18 - 21 mmHg) products are intended for:
- in case of "tired legs" syndrome;
- for the treatment of venous insufficiency in the initial stage, when the sensations of numbness, "tingles" and clawing, when the ankles and calves are swollen and painful in the evening, there are often cramps in the calves;
- for the prevention of venous thrombosis and leg edema in risk groups.

Compression class II or CCL 2 (23 - 32 mmHg) products are intended for:
- for the treatment of leg varicose veins without trophic disorders with lesions in the lower leg and thigh segment, including pregnant women;
- for the treatment of acute thrombophlebitis, deep vein thrombosis;
- for the prevention of swelling in the case of varicose veins with lesions in the leg and thigh segment;
- for the treatment and prevention of post-thrombotic syndrome;
- before and after sclerotherapy, phlebectomy operations and in preparation for them;
- in cases of other types of surgical treatment, in cases of post-traumatic swelling.

Attention! The use of compression class II products requires the consultation of a medical specialist.

Jobs that require you to be on your feet all day long, such as teachers, construction workers, nurses, doctors, waiters, factory workers, police officers, firefighters, and others, can lead to swollen, tired, and sore feet at the end of the day. You can ask your doctor to recommend compression stockings to wear during the day. This will prevent swelling and fatigue.

Oedema is the accumulation of fluid in the legs. Tight compression socks and tights will help reduce fluid build-up and keep your legs healthy.
